Gameplay from the Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising beta on top of my "immediate post beta thoughts" from my live stream. I still pretty much still agree with how I felt. I have a lot of hopes for the game and I think it's going in a very interesting direction, but the issues with throws and anti-airs made it very frustrating at times. All in all the game has good bones, and good direction, but th...

This is my first video and this is they type of Phidx guides i wanna see for SF6. Great stuff subbed and liked
Thanks so much for this guide! I’m back on Ranked and feel like my options have been muddled, any of these are going to be great for me to lock down! 🎉
@@MissSchala best of luck out there! 👍
Damn youtube. They recommended me this wonderful video too late.
What's the song that plays during the Sweep section of the video? It sounds really good
It's from the Under Night soundtrack! Really good fighting game series. 😊
@@raidhyn holy crap 3 minute reply, thanks dude! Great video though still getting the hashogeki dash down lol, omw to listen to the soundtrack
bless you - exactly what i was looking for!
As someone currently struggling with oki this is a great video to get myself started! Its beginner friendly stuff but in a digestible way for a nerd like me to understand LOL
Hell yeah. Welcome to the infinite depths of FGC tech 😊
I'm praying for the day raidhyn releases the akuma oki guide <3
Hoping to by the end of the month.
Thanks for sharing.. are these still relevant in season 2 ?
Yes. There's new ones but all of these still work the same.
Any new tech for vs. wake up drev? This is a great guide btw!
2mk isn't technically an overhead (the game calls mids highs for some reason) but people treat it like one because of the threat of you actually using an overhead and because every fighting game ever training them to stand block when an opponent is jumping and they don't know better. Just don't rely on it to be the high for your high-low mix.
With the new s2 patch Chun now has another mid screen safejump, everything else in this video still works. The new one is stance launcher-2mk-2mk-od air legs. Just the second stomp needs to be really low. You should use j mk since if they don't back rise you'll cross up. Overall it's pretty expensive and a bitmore damage than hp target combo, and you could just do the normal stomp safejump setup then double dash for normal unsafe oki.
This god damn fucking game. That timeing windows are fucking ridiculous for some combo. Like what the flying fuck. Fucking pisses me off. Im so frustrated. Stuck on fucking combo for endless hours cause of pin point timing windows fuck me. Marvel vrs capcom was more forgiving then this shit. Fuck
Any plans for an Akuma oki guide?
a lot of info to digest but great video.
no idea what any of this means but good video 👍
Shit man, even as a 1700MR Chun this taught me some pretty nifty stuff. Great vid!
Glad to hear it 😊
@@raidhyn Hey I was just reading over your notes and I was a little confused by the frame trap section.. What does [2]8LP mean?
@@blagd the brackets around the 2 mean it's charged. But if I wrote 28lp be and not 28mk it's probably a typo 😬
great video, thank you
love your guides man - subbed! are you planning to update the guide for season 2? keep up the great work!!
Will probably update the document at some point, but everything you see here should still work!
Nice video! If anything could be improved, I'd suggest: don't cover the rare knockdowns at all (or significantly less than you did). Instead: add more layers to your coverage of the most common knockdowns. For instance, it would be useful to know which of these point-blank framekills allow you to shimmy each characters's throw by walking backwards immediately afterwards. (Do you need at least +2f? +3f? More? How many extra frames are needed to back-walk shimmy Zangief, versus Chun?) Another category of oki that would be useful to know more about is safejabs - i.e., light meaties that are safe to DI and slow reversal supers (even better if the safejabs don't leave you throw-punishable when perfect parried, idk if that's a thing). Hope this makes sense, Raidhyn!
That's what the document is for homie
Related idea: at the end of the video, you could show an "extended demo" weaving together multiple oki setups into a round-ending sequence. For example: Phase 1) j.HP -> 5HP -> 214LK [Dash framekill midscreen] Phase 2) CH 214LP -> DR -> 2HP -> 214LK [Forward safejump] Phase 3) j.HP -> 4HP -> 236HK -> 623LP [2LP framekill in corner] Phase 4) 236LP -> 5LK -> 236LK This 4-phase sequence probably kills most characters, and strings together several of the setups you described. (I added a juggle 214LK safejump I heard about, though not 100% sure whether it's always safe. It's +41f here; but you can only juggle with DR -> 2HP in Phase 2's context by hitting 214LP late into its active frames.) Anyway, the "extended demo" would be a good opportunity to "put the pieces together" for your audience by giving them a refresher in a flashy way.
@@raidhyn Oh nice! I will check that out in more detail
New with the season 2 balance patch, Ryu is +42 after light donkey kick for a safe jump!
I heard about this! Gonna be fun to route into in the corner for sure.
I’m literally doing all these okis and getting beat by wake-up supers and e-x specials, Mainly akuma e-x shoryuken. And the sweep one has only worked twice, i sweep them follow up with a plain sweep with them laying down and I go for the hp and get punished. Same thing goes for sweep to light tatsu to crouching lp, I get caught all the time by scrub wake up button mashing.
All meaty setups lose to reversals. Its just part of the RPS man.
Looks like you might have to update this for the season 2 Ryu buffs lol
Should all still be the same. Mostly. Probably. Look I'm at Combo Breaker and have no way to check.
Incredibly well done video thank you
So the only people that are really good at the game are people that understands science and computers?
What? Understanding frame data and how it makes you vulnerable or not is a key element of fighting game knowledge for over 30 years now. You don't need to know science or math. You need to know how the game works. The same way you'll never get good at a shooting game if you don't understand how spawns and recoil work. This video is going over the fundamentals.
@@3chel0n13 bro I’ve been playing street fighter since the age of 4 years old. I know how the game works. I’m almost a master rank. But I always lose to a person that knows the frame data at a really really intensely high level bro. And frame data is in fact math it’s all math. I win my matches based off of knowing when it’s my turn that’s all and going for whiff punishes. Some characters are jus really really good on being plus and a scrub can get an easy win because the character frame data is really good and the scrub dont even know setups. Ken players we have to do the most work to win a fuckin match. It’s fuckin annoying.
@@3chel0n13 and I’m apart of the 30 year life span of street fighter. Because I was born In 87, I understand fighting games, jus not the data part
Awesome info and delivery! ty
Whats 2b and 2a on ps5?
Such an awesome guide, so useful. Saved it so I can come back
Tbh the character breakdown with included doc is A1 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾. The plan is to do them on all charcters, a select few, or just the ppl you main? I peeped the Chun and Ryu vids
Unfortunately each if these videos is the result of over 100 hours on each character between documenting in the spreadsheet, selecting the best oki for the video, and testing everything to ensure it's consistent. Next character I intend to drop 100 hours into is Akuma. 😊
@@raidhyn 🙌🏾 oh trust the works shows. Lookin forward to the akuma drop
elite tutorial
If you cook something like this up for Akuma you''ll be in business.
Chun Li was too careful, she had better chances I think
Yo, these videos really set you apart. Breaking OKI down toddler style. Great stuff. Make more of these w/ other characters please.
awesome vid, really good presentation
How to tell if timing correctly in training? Is it by setting CPU to wake up jab?
Yeah have them wake up jab, wake up jump if you want to practice non counter hit versions. Wake up throw if you want to practice a shimmy variant.
Another fantastic video. Thank you!
Great well formatted guide
Really good guide- thank you!
Also known as Oki, Okizeme is an offense technique to prevent the opponent's wake-up attempts. During Okizeme, the offensive player utilizes strikes or throws to keep the knocked-down enemy on the ground or interrupt their recovery to get a combo opportunity
I’m confused on what 5LK means or anything like that
Song ?
How can anybody learn all this stuff? Its too complex!
I’ve learned how to do it. It’s a matter of doing it on ranked where frames and connection vary worse than training mode😂
I’m stealing that 100%
I don’t understand any of the terms you use.
thank you so much for sharing your knowledge especially in such a nice format!
Sorry, I was onboard until you started using Anime fighter lingo. Can't stand that numpad nonsense. Super petty of me, I know. This is street fighter. Please use our lingo if you are going to make videos about our game.
Excellent video. Will you be making more like this? For other characters etc?
If opponent has OD or super if you throw drive rush you’re cooked because you can’t block.
Great video
Ryu is good until you bump into another shoto or Luke
I main both - can say while Luke is more fluid and hard hitting, if you dont overextend Ryu, he’s the better bet
hey!! great video, just wanted to let you know there is a typo at around the 13 min mark, the meaty should be 6HP and not 6MP right?
You right. Thanks for the catch!
